Bacon Wrapped Dates with Pecans

It doesn't get a whole lot easier than these Bacon Wrapped Dates with Pecans. A sweet date stuffed with a pecan and wrapped with bacon. A great party appetizer for the holiday season!

Ingredients

  • 8 strips bacon cut into half
  • 16 dates
  • 16 pecans

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F/190 degrees C. Have ready a large baking tray.
  • With a small sharp knife, make a slit in one side of the date. Stuff in a pecan and close it up.
  • Wrap 1/2 a slice of bacon around the date and secure with a toothpick.
  • Arrange on a large baking tray and bake for 18 - 20 minutes or until the bacon is cooked and crisp.
  • Remove from oven and serve.

Notes

  1. Bacon - I used thin streaky bacon. Avoid thick cut bacon as it will be more difficult to wrap an cook properly.
  2. Dates - I used the dates you buy in the baking section that were pitted. You could use fresh Medjool Dates if your supermarket carries them. No doubt, they are better. But the ones in the bags work just fine. Medjool Dates are fresh produce and you will find them in the fresh section of your supermarket.
  3. Pecans - Just regular whole pecans.
  4. Toothpicks - to secure the bacon around the dates
