Ingredients

  • 10 oz pizza dough
  • 1/3 cup pizza sauce more if you like
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese finely grated
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1/4 cup black olives sliced
  • 1/3 cup roasted red peppers
  • handful spinach fresh
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 475 degrees f/246 degrees c and place the oven rack at the lowest setting. Place a pizza stone, cast iron or steel baking tray on the oven rack.
  • Place the dough ball on a lightly floured surface and press it down with your hand. Start stretching the dough with your hands. Stretch the dough out to approximately an 12 inch circle.
  • Place the pizza dough on top of a sheet of parchment paper. Then place it on top of a pizza board (this will make it easy to slide it into the oven).
  • Top the pizza with the sauce, oregano, parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, roasted peppers, black olives and fresh spinach. Brush the edges of the pizza with the olive oil.
  • Slide the pizza into the oven on the preheated oven. Bake between 6 - 8 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and let sit for a couple of minutes before cutting and serving.

Notes

  1. Pizza dough - the time stated  does not include the time it takes to make pizza dough. For this recipe you can use you own dough, purchased pizza dough or a purchased thin crust pizza crust.
  2. Pizza sauce - again, I used Homemade Marinara Sauce. But any store bought pizza sauce or marinara sauce works great. Use your favourite!
  3. Pizza assembly - I always like to assemble my pizza on a sheet of parchment paper placed on top of a pizza board. This makes it very easy to slide the pizza into the oven. The pizza will go in the oven on top of the parchment paper.
  4. Cooking the pizza - It's very important to have a preheated surface in the oven to place your pizza on top of. I can't stress this enough. It's best to use a heavy surface like a pizza stone, cast iron or baking steel. If you don't have any of those things, use a baking sheet of any kind.
