Ground Turkey Pasta Bake

Ingredients

  • 8 oz Penne pasta
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 small onion finely diced
  • 3 Cups Marinara Sauce
  • 1 1/2 Cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 Teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 Teaspoon salt
  • 1 Teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Have ready a deep sided baking dish.
  • Cook pasta according to package. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet set over medium to high heat, add the olive oil and onion and give a good stir. Reduce heat to medium and let the onions cook for about 5 minutes until soft.
  • Add the ground turkey and break it up with a wooden spoon. Cook the ground turkey until browned and fully cooked through, about 8 minutes.
  • Add the dried oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper. Stir well.
  • Pour in the marinara sauce, stir well and bring to a simmer for 1 - 2 minutes.
  • Add the pasta to the sauce and stir to combine.
  • Pour the mixture into a deep sided baking dish. Cover with shredded mozzarella cheese and bake between 25 - 30 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and serve hot.
