Ingredients

  • 2 chicken breast butterflied and then cut into strips
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 cup milk
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  • Have ready 3 bowls. The first one in line, add the milk. The next one, the beaten egg. The last, the bread crumbs with salt and pepper.
  • On a clean working surface have all the chicken strips prepared. Also have a clean plate prepared to arrange the prepared chicken strips. First, dunk the chicken into the milk, then the egg, and finally the bread crumbs. Try and get as much of the bread crumb mixture to coat the chicken as possible. Then lay onto a clean plate. Repeat this process for all the chicken strips.
  • Now, you can deep fry, shallow fry or bake these. As I don't eat them often, I think they taste best if deep fried. If deep frying, cook for about 5-8 minutes in hot oil or until golden brown. If shallow frying, heat about ½ cup of sunflower oil in a deep rimmed skillet and fry on each side for around 5-6 minutes. At last, you can bake them in a preheated oven at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes. Turning half way through baking.
  • These chicken strips are best served immediately. However, they are also good cold. So you can take them on a picnic or pack in lunches.
