Turkey & Bacon Burgers

This Turkey & Bacon Burger is a great alternative to beef if you are looking for something a little lighter. Made with all fresh ingredients and can be frozen for easy dinners.

Ingredients

For the burgers:

  • 1 lb lb ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 Egg beaten
  • 1 Onion very finely chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon HP or other steak sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 Teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper
  • Small bunch finely chopped fresh parsley

Other:

  • 8 Hamburger buns
  • 8 strips bacon
  • 8 slices Gouda cheese
  • Tomato slices
  • Lettuce
  • Sliced red onion
  • Pickles

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey with all the other ingredients. Mix thoroughly with you hands. Once it is combined, form into 8 balls, Then on a working surface take each meat ball and flatten it out to approximately 1/2 inch thick.
  • For cooking, you can either grill them on the barbecue or cook them on the stove top. The barbecue does give it that extra great flavour. So, if you have one accessible, use it. Put the barbecue on a medium to high heat.and cook patties for approximately 5-7 minutes each side. On the stove top, cook for about the same amount of time.
  • If using cheese, add 1-2 minutes before they are cooked fully. Remove the burgers and assemble with toppings of your choice.
