Let’s Take a Look At The Burgers

And right now, let’s look at these burgers!

Here’s a little look at making the turkey burgers. Literally just put everything in a big bowl and mix it up till it’s combined.

Divide into 8 equal parts. You can be real picky and weigh them if you want. Note, I didn’t!!! I just usually eyeball it and it works out pretty good.

Then take them to the stove and get them cooked. These cooked in about 5 – 7 minutes per side. So that was a total cooking time for mine this time just under 15 minutes.

Notes about the Burgers

  • Refrigerate – I recommend refrigerating the patties for about 1/2 hour before cooking them.  This helps them stay together better.  Also, these burgers are quite thin.  If you prefer thicker burgers, you will get less patties from the recipe.  As well, cooking time will vary.
  • Cooking methods – These can be cooked on the barbecue or on the stove top.  I’ve cooked them on both with great results.
  • Toppings – All toppings are mere recommendations, so top off your burgers with your favourite ingredients and I’m sure you’ll enjoy them just as much as we did.
  • Hamburger buns – I made my own Hamburger Buns but this is NOT necessary.  I know, who has time for that, right…haha?  But if you do feel up to the challenge, check out that recipe here!

Ingredients

For the burgers:

  • 1 lb lb ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 Egg beaten
  • 1 Onion very finely chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon HP or other steak sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 Teaspoon onion powder

  • Small bunch finely chopped fresh parsley

Other:

  • 8 Hamburger buns
  • 8 strips bacon
  • 8 slices Gouda cheese
  • Tomato slices
  • Lettuce
  • Sliced red onion
  • Pickles

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey with all the other ingredients. Mix thoroughly with you hands. Once it is combined, form into 8 balls, Then on a working surface take each meat ball and flatten it out to approximately 1/2 inch thick.
  • For cooking, you can either grill them on the barbecue or cook them on the stove top. The barbecue does give it that extra great flavour. So, if you have one accessible, use it. Put the barbecue on a medium to high heat.and cook patties for approximately 5-7 minutes each side. On the stove top, cook for about the same amount of time.
  • If using cheese, add 1-2 minutes before they are cooked fully. Remove the burgers and assemble with toppings of your choice.
