Fluffy Buttermilk Waffles

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs at room temperature
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon butter melted
  • * extra butter for greasing the waffle maker

Instructions

  • Preheat your waffle maker and set aside. Have ready a baking tray with a cooling rack on top. Set aside.
  • Combine dry ingredients in a medium bowl and whisk to combine and set aside.
  • In a small bowl, combine eggs, buttermilk and the melted butter. Whisk to combine.
  • Add the milk mixture to the dry ingredients and whisk until combined. Be careful not to over mix the batter, it's okay for there to be a few lumps.
  • Grease the waffle maker with butter. Pour in batter just enough to fill all the holes. Put lid down and cook for about 2-3 minutes or until golden and risen. Remove from waffle maker and place on the cooling rack on top of the baking tray. Repeat for remaining waffles.
  • Serve with butter and maple syrup.
