When December hits, this is my absolute favourite drink. And what better than you make your own Home made Bailey’s Irish Cream. A great drink to enjoy during the holiday season!
It seems food and drink videos are all the rage these days. Usually a sped up video showing delicious looking dinners, desserts, appetizers, cocktails, and much more, all done seconds with the aid of a pair of hands! If only it were that easy, right? Well, a friend shared this Bailey’s recipe to my Facebook page the other week. And like all the other videos, it is quick and to the point. Makes it looks so easy. You can click the link here for that Bailey’s video. This video is true to point because making this really did take about a minute. So sped up video and all, still super quick to make.
Although the text in the video is in Spanish, it is pretty self explanatory. Also, the recipe is written out here, so pretty easy. Until seeing this video the other week, I had never ever given any thought to making Bailey’s. Honestly, I didn’t even know you could! And guess what, the stuff is great. I think it will now become my new December tradition.
If you happen to have some Bailey’s loving friends you could even give this as gifts for Christmas. Cookies are highly overrated anyway..ha! If you take a look though Pinterest you will see so many cute ideas of how to bottle up Bailey’s and give it away for gifts through the holiday season. And don’t even get me started on the desserts over there on Pinterest. There was a Bailey’s Cheesecake, brownies, truffles and so much more. Take a look over in Pinterest if you love Bailey’s as much as I do.
Why Make You Own Home Made Bailey’s Irish Cream
So, what’s the verdict on this stuff anyway. After drinking Bailey’s original for too many years to count, at first I thought it was strange. But then I thought it was delicious. Kind of like only having eaten store bought cookies you whole life, and then biting in to a home made one for the first time. Well, not really, but you get the drift. Sometimes, it is just fun to do it yourself!
Does it work out more economical? No, it worked out to about the same price. It probably depends on what kind of brandy you buy and how much that costs. The other ingredients are low cost. This still worked out to the same price as a bottle of original Bailey’s.
Why make it? I say why not! I just might have to make up another batch before Christmas…oops.
