What Are These Chicken Tenders Like
- Difficulty – This is a super easy recipe to make and it’s done from start to finish in about 30 minutes.
- Taste – The chicken is tender and juicy with a crunchy bread crumb coating. And don’t forget the Cajun spice that really elevates these tenders.
- Serving – I used 1lb of chicken tenders, which served 4 people. You can easily adjust the serving size in the recipe card at the end of the post.

Ingredients
- Chicken – I used chicken tenders.
- Bread crumbs – I used fine bread crumbs, they work best.
- Cajun seasoning – I used my Homemade Cajun Seasoning, but store bought works great too.
- Eggs – Eggs are used to dip the chicken into before adding the bread crumb mixture.
NOTE – The full recipe and ingredient list can be found at the end of the post in the recipe card.

Instructions
- Preheat oven – Preheat oven to 350ºF/180ºC. Place a baking rack on top of a baking sheet and set aside.
- Combine seasonings – In a medium sized shallow bowl, combine the bread crumbs with all of the seasonings. Whisk to combine and set aside.
- Coat chicken – Dip the chicken tenders in the beaten egg and then the bread crumbs. Repeat for all chicken.
- Bake – Lay the chicken tenders on the baking tray on top of the baking sheet. Place in the oven and bake between 15 – 20 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked.
- Serve – Remove from oven and serve hot with your favourite dipping sauces.

Recipe Tips
- Press the bread crumbs onto the chicken – Be sure to firmly press the bread crumbs onto the chicken. Otherwise it may fall off while baking.
- Baking – These will bake crispy in the oven. Just make sure to use the rack on top of the tray. This will ensure they don’t go soggy underneath.

Substitutions
- Panko bread crumbs – You could use regular store bought fine bread crumbs or even homemade bread crumbs of your choice.
- Chicken tenders – This recipe will also work with chicken cutlets or chicken breast cut into strips.
- Cooking method – Alternatively you can choose one of these cooking methods.
- For Deep Frying – Heat the oil in your fryer until it’s quite hot but not not smoking. Add the chicken in batches, if necessary, and cook for about 5 minutes or until golden and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- For Shallow Frying – Heat about 2 inches of oil in a large deep sided skillet. Bring the oil up to temperature and cook the chicken on each side for about 3 minutes or until golden and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Frequently Asked Questions
No, chicken tenders and chicken strips are not the same. Chicken tenders are the entire chicken tenderloin. Chicken strips are pieces of chicken cut from the chicken breast.
Chicken tenders are a little different from chicken breast. They are, in fact, tenderloins that are located underneath the chicken breast along the breastbone. And like chicken breast, each chicken contains two tenderloins. Chicken tenderloins are much smaller and thinner than the chicken breast. Therefore, they do cook much quicker.
