Chocolate Chip Waffles

Make a stack of these Chocolate Chip Waffles soon. Light and fluffy waffles with a crisp exterior filled with semi sweet chocolate chips. Choose your own topping or finish them off with fresh berries.

Chocolate Chip Waffles

Are you a fan of the Breakfast table? Honestly, we only usually have time at the weekend to indulge in breakfast such as crepes, pancakes and waffles. If you are a fan, I think these Chocolate Chip Waffles would make a great addition to any weekend kitchen table. Easy to make waffles that are filled with chocolate chips and topped with sweet fresh berries!

Chocolate Chip Waffles

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups plain flour
  • 2 Teaspoons sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon salt
  • 2 Teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 Cups whole milk
  • 2 Tablespoons butter melted
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 Cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Combine dry ingredients in a medium bowl and whisk to combine and set aside.
  • In a medium bowl, combine eggs, milk and the melted butter. Whisk to combine.
  • Add milk mixture to the dry ingredients and whisk until combine. Stir in chocolate chips.
  • In a preheated waffle maker, pour batter in until the bottom is completely covered. Put lid down and cook for about 3 – 5 or until golden and risen. Remove waffle and repeat for further waffles.
  • Show served here with fresh berries.

I know I topped these Waffles with fresh berries but the Triple Berry & Mango Fruite Salad could work well also.

Notes about the waffles

  • Grease the waffle maker – I think you should grease the waffle maker before using.  Some waffle makers and even recipes say don’t grease.  From experience, I have learned that you really should.  Especially if adding something to the batter like chocolate chips or berries.
  • Crisp exterior – Also, the longer you leave the waffle in the waffle maker, the crispier it will become.  So, if you want crisper waffles, leave them in a bit longer.
