This is a super easy and quick Lemon Vinaigrette that I make so often and thought it about time to share it here. It’s is a staple here in this house for salads, vegetable dishes and even marinades for chicken and seafood. It only takes 5 minutes and you just can’t beat that!
What is a Vinaigrette
A Vinaigrette is made by mixing an oil with something acidic such as vinegar or lemon juice. Often salt and herbs are added and it’s usually used as a salad dressing and even a marinade.
And this Lemon Vinaigrette is one of my absolute favourites using olive oil, vinegar, lemon juice, garlic, sugar, salt and pepper. Sometimes I add fresh basil or parsley which adds even a deeper flavour. It’s a great dressing.
This is the perfect dressing for any spring salad or fresh vegetables. Once upon a time, I used to by all of my dressings from the supermarket. Then one day, I put oil with vinegar and made my own. Imagine that! I never looked back and always make dressings for salad. Honestly, it usually only takes a few minutes and the taste is just better. Well, in my little ol’ opinion. Plus you get the bonus status of making your own dressing…ha!
This dressing here literally takes 5 minutes to put together. I love it and make it regularly. I have used it in so many ways including marinading shrimp and chicken. It goes great over a green salad, pasta salad, couscous, and so much more. You get the picture. I recently made it for a new dish that will be hitting the blog later this week, hopefully.
And if you love this dressing, check out my Avocado & Corn Salad using this dressing.
Right, I am off to my vegetable garden where I can start on gowning stuff for my table. Happy cooking friends!
