You don’t need a deep fryer to get these Crispy Oven Baked Chicken Wings just right. Put together in no time at all and then baked in the oven for easy clean up, these wings are sure to be a summer hit.
The weekend’s over and we’re back to the routine of the weekdays once again.
We did make it away for a Sunday day trip and it was such a great day out. A tad on the windy side, but everyone loves sand with a beach picnic right?
Anyway, we packed a picnic and got it enjoy it on our favourite beach on a relatively normal beach day out. Doesn’t get a whole lot better.
And for some great news this week, looks like my husband will be returning to work….woohoo! After being at home full time since the world shut down back in mid march, let’s just say this is a good thing for our marriage….haha!
Life is slowly returning to some kind of normal.
And with life slowly returning to normal, I’ll be getting my kitchen and work space back, finally! I work best ALONE! No offense to my family members, but working with them hovering and interrupting ten thousand time a day is less than productive.
After just about three months with Mike home and me trying my hardest to work in the kitchen doing recipe testing, photo styling and photography, I’m ready for work to take him back.
Now, let’s take a look at these Chicken Wings!
You need very few ingredients to put together these chicken wings. Just the wings, olive oil, paprika, thyme, onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper. That’s it! The exact measurements, like always, will be found in the recipe at the bottom of the page.
Make the Marinade For the Crispy Oven Baked Chicken Wings
This marinade is so simple, and it’s the same marinade that I used for the Oven Roasted Rotisserie Style Chicken the other week. It’s delicious, so you’re going to want to make it soon.
Combine all the marinade ingredients in a small bowl and stir to combine.
Coat The Wings In The Marinade
After you’ve put together the quick marinade, just pour it all over the wings. I find it best to use my hands to completely coat the wings. You could wear disposal gloves if you don’t want to get in a mess. Alternatively, you could put them in a zip lock bag with the marinade and give it a good shake around.
Place them on a large baking tray or in a baking dish. Make sure they are not overlapping each other.
Bake The Wings
I baked these for exactly 50 minutes in a preheated 375 F/190 C oven. They were perfectly done and crispy at this stage.
Other Ways To Cook The Chicken Wings
You are not restricted to just the oven for this recipe. You can just as easily Deep Fry or Barbecue them. Take a look how we can do that here.
Yes, you can cook these in a deep fryer. Remember, this will be super quick. If going down this route, preheat the oil and test one wing. If it sizzles when it hits the oil, it’s ready to cook. Wings will deep fry in about 7 – 8 minutes.
Or you might prefer to cook them on the barbecue with it being summer and all. Easy. We’ll go down the gas barbecue route because that’s the kind I use. Barbecue them over a medium heat. You don’t want it too high or you’ll risk burning them before they are cooked. I’d recommend cooking them at about 12- 14 minutes per side. They will be done when they reach an internal temp of 165 degrees F/75 C.
Can I just say how great these wings were! I have a few other recipes for wings that we all enjoy, but these were just fantastic and so easy. They took no time to put together and then they are just popped in the oven for an easy life.
If you love wings, I recommend you make them soon.
